Silverback Solar^TM utilizes a self-adhering EPDM foam rubber gasket strip that is applied to the outside of the flashing at, or near the top of the Silverback Solar^TM Rack Base Support. When the Silverback Base Cap is installed, the gasket is compressed to create a tight seal.

The use of the gasket is optional, because the Base Cap flashes 2.4" over the top of the Base Support and Flashing. Silverback Solar^TM recommends the gasket in areas where there is ice and snow, or if splashing water is possible.
